Can you help me?
Connor x Modern!Reader

Okay, so I couldn’t help but notice how there was so little Connor x Readers out in internet so I decided to do you all a favor! Your welcome! I also hope to encourage many other people and fans of Assassins Creed to start writing more AC x Readers not just AC x OCs. Cause I don’t know about you guys but I really don’t like Canon x OC. I just don’t. But then again, I can’t really say shit. Oh yeah, forgot to add that you are in Junior year of high school making you 17 or 18? So let’s get on with the story, si?

(home town)
July 6, 2013

Music blasted in your ears and the hot summer rays belted down on your skin as you strolled around the park. It was the middle of summer vacation and you were just taking a walk outside. You reached your hand up to shield your eyes as you looked up into the sky. The black colors of the birds contrasted with the periwinkle of the atmosphere. The white fluffy clouds casted shadows on the ground, giving the blessing of shade from the Sun’s rays to the Earth. A perfect day right? Well I suppose, if you count your reason for taking a walk in the first place.

The reason? Well let’s just say you got into a fight with your mother. Again. You see, when you were just four years old your father left the house, leaving your mother in charge of taking care of a simple, innocent, four year old child who was still growing. You didn’t know why, all you knew was that he just upped and left. That’s it, no real reason. He didn’t even say good-bye. Ever since then your mother did all the house work, paid the bills, and provided for you.

However, like every mom, she had rules. And these rules were rather unfair, at least to you they were. She wouldn’t let you hang out with your friends during weekdays, she would take away your computer during weekends, and she wouldn’t even let you use your phone outside the house. You didn’t know why she did all this, but you didn’t like it. Why, just earlier that day, you two had gotten into fight over these rules. She had argued that she was keeping you more focused on your studies so that you would be able to graduate high school and be able to go to college. You had argued that you were doing just fine in school and that sometimes you needed a break so that you wouldn’t be as exhausted. But, she didn’t buy it.

You two fought back and forth and at one you had started throwing profanities at your mother, and when you did, she had lifted her arm up and slapped. That was the last straw. After that, you ran to your room and gathered everything you would need. You packed clothes, your hairbrush, sketchbook, pencil and eraser, an extra pair of shoes, your father’s Swiss army knife, your diary, a book, and your phone charger. When you walked back to the front door your mother had registered what was going and blocked it. You simply pushed her down and walked out, without a second glance.

Yes you were harsh to your mother, but you had to. You couldn’t take her damn rules any more. She practically made you a loner. You had no friends in your school. Sure a few acquaintances but, none of them close enough to be your friend. Your father leaving, your mother’s rules, and the fact that you had no one had toughened you up. You learned to deal with problems by yourself. You consulted in anyone when someone bullied you, you never asked for help on your homework, and you always forced yourself to stop when you cried. And when someone asked you what was wrong you simply said, “I’m fine, you don’t need worry. I can handle this by myself,” Yes, you forced yourself to stay strong. You created an invisible wall, blocking anyone from getting close to you and your heart.

Which brings me back to the fight. The only thing that could break your wall was your emotions. That was the only thing, and that rarely ever happened. The only your wall would fall, would be during great emotional storms. And you can say this was one of those times. The fact that your own MOTHER had SLAPPED you had destroyed your heart. Sure you got into your fights, that was normal, but she had never gone to such an extent. I bet she’s regretting it right now. You thought ruefully. Well, she can go f*ck herself for all I care! Cause’ I’m never going back to that damn house!

You walked over to the part of the park that was covered in mostly trees and walked over to one that had small branches and knots sticking out. After taking out your ear phones and phone and putting them in your bag, you grabbed on to one of the small branches with your right hand and another with your left. Once you had a good grip, you began hauling yourself up the tree. Though your bag containing your stuff slowed you down, you managed to reach a sturdy branch that jutted out of the wood, not too high to the point where you couldn’t jump down but, not too low where you could be easily detected.

You loved climbing trees. It gave you a place to think, undisturbed, when something happened. And it gave you something to do that you actually enjoyed. Climbing and jumping through the trees relaxed you. You were able to be yourself in the tress. Strange thing to say I know, but once you try it you would never want to go back down, that is, unless you’re afraid of heights then don’t even think about it! But, as I was saying, you continued jumping from branch to branch, keeping perfect balance. And whenever a branch would creak you quickly scooted over to the thicker end and hopped on your way.

The wind ripped through your hair as you moved, the ground filled with different animals, oblivious to your presence, and the bird nests crowded with newborn hatchlings, greeting you with chirps as you passed by. You stopped once you reached the great Sycamore that marked the end of the park and, the start of the woods. Should I? You thought. You had nowhere else to go and, the closest town was fifty miles away. It would take at least two weeks to get there. You shrugged. Why not? Maybe living in the woods would be better.

You took off your bag and through it down to the ground. Once it landed near a rock you launched yourself off the branch you stood on and began your descent. The second your feet touched the forest floor you rolled, as to avoid any injuries. You stood up and brushed yourself off before walking over to your bag and putting it back on your shoulders.

“Now to find a stream, if I’m correct it’d be a place where the trees are thickest. Or was that where you find more game?....Bushes?....I’ll find it when I get there,” you said to yourself. With that decision made you began you journey through the dense foliage.

(Timeskip to 3 hours later)

“WHAT THE F*CK!!! I was sure I was going the right way!!” you shouted, causing a flurry of birds to take to the sky. You kicked a nearby rock, sending it flying into the trees and plopped down on the ground.

SPLASH!!!

Your ears twitched at the sound and you quickly got up, running towards the direction where you had kicked the rock. Once you broke through the dense forest your face lit up. In front of you was a pond surrounded by cattails, water lilies, and tall grass. You ran to the shore, set your bag down, dropped to your knees and dipped your hands down into the cool water. You gently scooped up the water and splashed it on to your face. After a while of washing your face and drying it with your shirt, you crawled back to where you left your bag and reached in. You retrieved your phone and looked at the time.

“5:34? Damn, better find a place to stay the night then,” you mumbled before getting up and dusting yourself off. You placed your phone back in your bag and set off. You stayed close to the river that flowed out of the pond, occasionally crossing it. It was another hour before you crossed the river to the other side again, and you spotted a something like a cave entrance. You walked over to it, stepping lightly so as to not startle anything should something be inside it. Once you were just outside the entrance you cautiously peered in. (E/c) orbs pierced the darkness that filled the cave as you looked as far as the light could go.

“H-hello?” you said, the sounded bouncing off the cave walls and echoing. Deciding to investigate further you took out you phone, turned up the brightness, and to slow steps into the cave. The darkness would have swallowed you whole, had you not had your phone to light the path ahead of you. Not to mention that you probably would have gone crazy from the lack of light. As you walked further you began noticing twigs and debris littering the floor, “Maybe I could use these,” you thought. You began scooping up any twigs that would work for firewood and soon your arms were full. Filled with pride you continued onwards. It was thirty more minutes before you found something that looked like an old stomped out fire pit. “Strange,” you lifted your phone a little higher and you noticed various human objects scattered around the area. There were knives, tin cans, and a torn blanket that was bunched up next to the cave wall.

You quickly gathered up what you deemed useful and laid your sticks and twigs in the fire pit. You set your phone down and grabbed two rocks. You brought them close to the pit and quickly knocked them together, creating a spark then a small flame. You smiled at your accomplishment then crawled over to the pile of objects and pulled out the blanket and wrapped it around yourself. You watched fire for a while before retrieving your phone and checking the time again. 7:56.

“Might as well get some shut eye,” you said. You set your phone back down and reached for your bag, bringing it close and laying your head on it. You watched the fire flicker before closing your eyes for a well-deserved sleep, unaware of what was to happen the next day.

To be continues…
So yeah! As it said there aren't very many Connor x Readers so I decided to do one. You're welcome. also decided to make you rather resourceful in this fanfic. If you want an explanation then how about we just go on and say that in your Sixth Grade year you guys had to go up to the mountains where they taught about life science and what you should do should you ever go camping and you get lost!

Anywho, hope you all enjoyed reading!

Me no own Assassin's Creed III but you belong to :iconconnorkenwayplz:
